I just ordered one of these from NGK (yeah they got more of them on a FCFS basis, woohoo!) So, does anyone already have one and care to do a review?

I just got my Spyker for the UPS guy. It's about what I expected in look and size (in person is usually different from seeing it online). The overall shape makes me think of it as a big brother to the Dodo; it's bird-like. I don't really like the logo on the blade, but the carbon fiber twill inlays in the handle are nice. The pouch and the authenticity card are a nice touch as well. How come more Spyderco's don't come with the pouch?

My only complaints:

1. The two smaller holes were drilled a little roughly, so I cleaned them up a bit with a file, but they could still be better
2. The blade is a little off-center when closed but not really enough to annoy me
3. Theres a small knick in the edge when I run my thumbnail down it, but I think my Sharpmaker will take care of it.

I don't think I'm going to send it back to NGK for a replacement or to Spyderco for repair; it's just not worth the hastle since I'm moving in a week. Does anyone else have similar issues with theirs?

So, first impressions are pretty good. Hopefully the knife will see some good use when I get to AZ next week. :D

The blade on mine is well centered and I cannot feel any imperfections in the edge. The two smaller holes each do have a small spot on the clip side, slightly below 3 o'clock, where a little bit of steel was left in place that should have been removed. Had not even noticed that till you mentioned it.

Mine has the same drilling problems as yours, not perfectly finished but aside from that everything's perfect.

I'm headed for Scottsdale. My family moved there last summer and I stayed here for school, but things have changed and I'm catching up to them now. I'm excited about it. Phoenix/Scottsdale is a great place. I'll miss FL, especially Orlando (where we lived for the past 3 years), but I'm not a big fan of Boca Raton.

Ok, sorry to needlessly perpetuate this thread, but here we go...

Firstly, has anyone noticed that the Spyker is basically a Spyderco-made Kershaw Bump minus the assist? Why not something truly unique for a first time collaboration?

Secondly, has anyone else had an issue with the ergonomics? I can't seem to find a totally comfortable grip on it like my Military or Dodo.

Thirdly, what happened to Spyderco QC? Those roughly drilled holes bug me. You can even see a color difference on the inside between the large hole and the other two. How fast did these things get put through production for this to happen? I haven't recieved my Benchmade Mini Skirmish yet but I've handled the regular Skirmish and those drilled holes are smoothed, rounded, ported and polished like a custom, and both cost less than a Spyker. What's the deal?

Well, I can't deny that it's a Spyderco-built knife. If I had never held it before and I did so with my eyes closed I'd know it's a Spyderco becuase of the handle material, clip, spyderhole, just the overall feel.

Maybe I need to give credit where due. Look at Ken Onion's most recent knives, the Bump, Storm, Mini Boa, even the Steven Segal knife; they're very nice knives. This is his style and even though it seems a little redundant he is remaining true to it. I guess what I'm annoyed with is that Kershaw is now defined by Ken Onion design. Don't get me wrong, I like the Onion knives, Kershaw owes a lot to him, but this is a Spy-Ker, not a Spy-Ken. What would a Spyderco/Kershaw knife look without the influence of Onion design?
