Has this been released yet? I was going to get on a pre-order list, but a few websites say sold out. Did I miss it?

According to Eric Glesser at SHOT Show 2024 about 2000 pieces are produced so there should be enough to go around to all dealers. The dealer price has held steady at $231.00 since it was announced in October 2023. M398 has excellent edge retention and very good corrosion resistance.

Available on BHQ right now.

I ordered one yesterday, can’t wait to check it out.

It's not a bad knife, but not great either. You can definitely see places where they cut corners, Like the design, but not sure it's a keeper.

The insides edges of the handle slabs, both G10 and Ti side are quite sharp, so are the rear upper corners and because the handle is pretty short it tends to dig in when opening it. If you use a more rearward grip where your thumb is on the handle more than the blade spine (which the flipper tab/choil kind of forces you into, it's quite uncomfy if you really press down with your thumb. They definitely needed to add some length on the handle, especially if you leave the flipper on cause it forces a fairly rearward grip. There's no jimping on the blade spine leading up to the spyderhole as you'd normally see.

Blade shape is good, mine was not very sharp out of the box. Lockbar is very stiff, but blade detent is pretty weak, works nice with the thumbhole but not so great with the flipper. Lockup is great, blade is centered, it's quite a thick blade for a knife this size.
