Square Bolsters on Texas Jack

I was just wondering--
Case Texas Jack owners: Do the square bolsters make this knife uncomfortable or abrasive in the pocket? I like CV jacks and do not yet own one of these. All my knives thus far have rounded bolsters. On a knife this size, does it make a difference?

Are this the sort of bolsters you mean (I can´t understand what is meant with square :o )

I EDCed this knife for a very long time, over a three quarter of a year and nothing else. I bolsters weren´t rounded but it didn´t hurt or disturb inside the jeanspocket. It made a good feel (and does it still). For sure, it feels a little bit thie other way than rounded bolsters, but they are fine.

I hope I could help and it was what you meant.

Kind regards
Andi

Regardless of brand I have always preferred square bolsters on stockmans and T-Jacks over rounded ones. Just an aesthetics things I guess, and I have never found them to be more or less comfortable in pocket than the rounded versions.

I have one which I never carry due to the square bolsters. It's not really that bad, I just prefer the feel of rounded ones.

Andi--
That's exactly what I'm talking about.
And now you've got me thinking about trying a stockman.
It's a pattern I have never owned, and that one looks mighty nice...

Here's a couple Case 6292 Texas Jacks. Very easy on the hands and very easy on the pockets. It's hard to come up with a better knife for daily use. Heavy duty too.

Now if you want to do some work around the ranch, here's the three blade version of the 92 Pattern.

Case 6392 Stockman.

All three knives pictured above are built on the same frame. All are 4" closed.

Yes, that's the Real Red of yore.

The Texas Jack is a very welll sized knife and I particularly prize the modified pen blade it sports. This broad blade is so useful that I wish it were found on more patterns. I would like to see what a rounded bolster model looked like, it could be sensational....

Well... go on and get a stockman... it´s a nice pattern. Though actually I prefer jackknives more (because of my GECs :D )
I carried stockman already for a pretty long time and the Case Medium Stockman in that pic (Chestnut Brown Bone CV) was my only EDC for about nine months.

As I already said, you should try it out. Imo the thing on the bolsters is somekind of very personal.

Kind regards
Andi
