Can someone provide detailed instructions on the method and tools needed to square the spine of a BK-2. I want to be able to use the back of the knife as a striker for a ferrocerium rod. Thanks in advance.

I just sanded the paint off back there with a 220 grit emory board and it throws sparks like a madman.

ymmv.

I'ld post the link but this iPad is a pain.

You can use anything that will take off the coating and a little bit of steel. Belt sander, bench grinder, hell, even an angle grinder would work. Dremel might be a good choice too.

I found a jewelers file whilst cruising my old mans garage. I'm quite certain any file will do.
I have a thread somewhere where I used a metal grinder to square of my pommel.

Put knife in vise. Take file and rub one direction until spine is mostly square. Not like you need a perfect 90* angle - just need to sharpen the spine to throw better sparks. About a 45 second job with your basic metal file.

Thanks everyone think I will try the vice and file option as it seems to be the easiest. If that does not work I will the worksharp.
