I know what this looks like, hear me out.
I think it's about time we all get off these horses of ours, and set our pegs a few notches on the board.
For too long have I sat idly by and watched slander take place before my eyes.
"It's a horrible steel"
"Great for gas stations!"
I say nay!
Never has utility and price met in such a middle.
Sure it's soft, what's wrong with that? I'm sorry you yearn for days of yore where katanas break apart guns (pipe dream!).
I am here, not as a common man, but a messenger, a harbinger of truth, presenter of reality.
It doesn't rust, it has the oh so coveted chromium at it's back.
Hate me if you will.
Love me if you must.
I have made my stance clear, and I am willing to die on this hill.
Do your worst, I am sure I have seen worse.
As you put on your airs, saddle up your high horses.
I will be here.
Humble.
Understanding.
Ever willing to accept more into the fold of reality and good expectations.

Another example that marijuana use is linked to schizophenia.
I'll have you know I am as sober as a school boy, as straight edge as a T-square. Do not confuse the truth of my words as the ramblings of a man under the influence of recreational drugs.

It's serviceable, but not super great at much other than corrosion resistance and easy sharpening. I have a Chinese buck stockman that works ok, but dulls pretty darn fast.

In a filet knife with thin geometry is where I find it does well enough, especially if your blade gets left wet often.

I appreciate your response, you have responded respectfully and with good intentions and information. Thank you.

MolokaiRider MolokaiRider gave you the straight dope. It also works well for laminated blades as an inexpensive steel to provide corrosion resistance and protect the core.

And with that, we are not going to invite a free-for-all for your amusement. This thread is closed.
