I have a XM-18 and it developed a squeak upon opening/closing. Simple solution (I thought) was to take it apart and lube everything up. I did that and while it is better, there is still a small squeaking sound when opening/closing slowly. I have lubed up every moving part at this point and just curious if anyone has experienced this and has a solution?

I will just continue to open/close hoping it will go away :D

Try cleaning off the mating parts of the lock with rubbing alcohol. You don't want lube on the lock. Then very lightly oil (I'm assuming you use a decent knife or gun oil) the pivot and both sides of the Teflon washers. Adjust your pivot to your liking and BOOM no squeak. :)

If the noise is what I think it is, it occurs because of the detent ball traveling on the blade. You can put a tiny (tiny) dot of grease in the detent hole. Has worked for me on multiple knives in the past. Good luck!

Edit: And what Jensen said!

^^^^that is my experience as well. Squeak originates from opening/closing blade as detent ball slightly vibrates the locking bar like a tuning fork. Seems to go away with use.

I am using break free clp. It seems to be getting better with every 100 opening/closings ;). I will try a dab of oil in the detent hole. Also to be noted this knife is fairly new so could just be a break in period as mentioned.

Well that was interesting. First I tried a little oil in the detent hole which did nothing. At that point I figured I would take it apart and wipe all the oil off everything to start fresh and isolate each part. Upon re-assembly it does not squeak at all and fires just as nicely as before. I am sure there is still a little oil on the washers so I will just run it like this.

I did not have any CR grease but I used some marine grade grease and put a small amount in the detent hole. It took about a dozen flips to work out the squeak but it has now been squeak free for the rest of the day. Thanks for the advice guys! :D
