Hello, all. I am new to the forum and knife world and have recently purchased a Boker helios leo damascus folder. I have one small problem with the knife....When I disengage the linerlock to fold the knife down, the ball baring on the linerlock rubs against the base of the blade and squeeks. I am not sure how to go about fixing this minor problem. Suggestions on tools/supplies and any remedies would be most appreciated.
On the other hand, the knife itself is awsome. I just think that the process of damascening is so cool.

Thanks for you help.

little oil should take care of it. if the damascus isn't stainless, you'll want to put something on the blade anyway.

I also am brand new to knife ownership. I've read many times people suggesting oil to lubricate folders. But I'm not sure what kind of oil is best. I have a Kershaw Ken Onion Leek, if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated.

there's a lot of stuff that can be used. Rem oil, Militec 1, Tuf Glide, White Lightning, 3 in 1, you won't get a shortage of suggestions. I use Tuf Glide myself.

To follow up on the squeeky folding.....I used some reliable fast action gun oil at the site of the squeek (where the ball baring hits the base of the knife) and it has worked flawlessly. I just made sure that I didn't put so much oil on the site that dirt/grime would accumulate. Good stuff.
