Squiggles on blades?

Greetings. Many of the Spyderco knives I have have small squiggles on the blade. I would guess they are initials. Can anybody expand on this? Thanx.
 
Their maker's marks, indicating the primary designer of the knife.
It's not unlike Salvador Dali scribbling his signature at the bottom of his paintings.
 
Sal Glesser and Eric Glesser have their own marks indicating who designed the knife.
 
So do most of the custom makers who have designed knives in collaboration with Spyderco.
