I'm on the verge of buying a Squire model , I already own a 110 and 55 and over the years I've had one or two others. One tiny thing that I don't like on some Bucks is the tip of the knife blade sits very high in the handle when in the closed position , is this the case with the squire ?

Not in my experience. I have several and none of them have a problem with the tip being above the handle when closed. The only time I've had that issue was with a 55 and I fixed that with just a few strokes on the kick of the blade using one of the diamond sticks from my Sharpmaker.

Neither of mine have the tip exposed at all. You can take your fingernail and run it down the bolster and onto the blade while closed and nothing snags.

Thanks for the replies , I'm so close to getting one of these but I really want a 119 as well , may I'll get both

The 501 is my edc for over 20yrs. The only time this happens is when the tip get sharpened to much or improperly reprofiled broken tip, as mentioned its an easy correction if it becomes this way.
But it is definitely not that way new.
Go to the custom shop and get you a special one.

Just an update , I'm really glad I bought a Squire , its just the right size I was looking for. One thing I noticed was the back spring is weaker then that on the 55 and 110 , is this normal ?

I don't think its too week , more of an observation , my 55 snaps shut with a lot more force.
