Peter Howard emailed me today to let me know the Squirrel knife is ready, I have not seen it yet and am very excited! I will share pics when it arrives!
We have been emailing back and forth with this kind of stuff:
"No worries Peter, the job will be done on the day the job gets finished and thats OK! Forgive me if I have appeared overanxious, but I have my reasons, you see, we have a large number of nuclear electric power plants in this area and because of them, the squirrels grow extremely quickly and to sizes unheard of anywhere else. Often by the middle of winter, the grey squirrels have acheived the size of adult beavers, and the even larger fox squirrels will often bust 6" diameter tree limbs as they scamper about because of their excess weight (often over 35 lbs, not including the large nuts). I hope that the Squirrel knife will be ready fairly soon because it will be to small by November to do a proper butchering job on them. There are plans for a " SUPER SQUIRREL KNIFE", but unfortunatly John does not have the ability to heat treat such a large blade, so plans are on hold for it until next year. "
Can't wait!
