SR-1 Detent-ball pressure...

I just picked up my 2nd SR-1 and this one's rather special...
Photos to follow but in the meantime, I noticed that the detent ball was chewing up my blade... that or the alignment's a bit off and I can see what I shouldn't be able to see...


Granted, damascus is a bit softer and my friends told me that detent-markings are commonplace with frame-locks (and particularly with the softer damsacus) but man, this is a bit much, particularly since it's a new knife.

@Gianni: a penny (Euro cent ;-) for your thoughts...?

No worry. It is not the detent ball that have chewed up your blade.
We have done it.
We have made a rail in order do not feel the layers of the damascus when you are opening the blade.

The Damascus is not soft.

I did not mean to imply that damascus is soft like lead (lol), I just considered the possibility that maybe the detent ball is made of a hard steel (... S90V? haha).

*btw, I couldn't find Mr. Molletta's first name anywhere on the Internet... is it top secret? I wanted to add it to my review of the SR-1Al...
