Wife and I walked into the Blade Show on Saturday, my 65th birthday. She said, "Happy birthday. Now go buy yourself a gift from me." I went straight to the Lion Steel booth and bought an SR 1 from the very few they had in stock for sale.

They had one knife with the titanium frame and no clip or clip cut-out. since I do not like tip-up clips and would have removed a clip anyway, no problem. However, it was in a different steel than the other knives. It was M390, a steel with which I was totally unfamiliar, although I have done a web search and everything I read about it seems to be positive. The guy in the booth said that he would sell it to me at the same price as the others, which gave me the impression that it was some kind of upgrade in steel. So, did I do well to buy the different steel?

By the way, I thought the disk on the lock was a lock stabilizer. I didn't know until I did my search today that it is actually a device to render the lock immoble with the blade open. Outstanding idea! I really like this knife.
