So I tried posting this in a review forum but did not recieve much feedback so I will try here in LionSteels forum.

I purchased a SR-1B and when I recieved it a very small portion of the bronzing on the handle was rubbed off by the box that it came in, you can clearly see the transfer onto the box. What I would like to know is is this a common occurence? If so why isn't this addressed, maybe put a piece of felt or cloth in the box for padding or eliminate the box all together?

Can't comment on whether this is common ... but can say that 1) first time I have seen/heard a report about this happening and 2) my SR-1B was flawless. Regardless, if purchased new, seems to me that either the retailer or manufacturer warranty would remedy the situation. I would first contact the retailer. If that didn't pan out, next step would be LionSteel (often the last resort, however, since it would involve cost to cover shipping as well as a long wait for resolution.)

Hi Dane. I'm tempted to go with what the poster put in that thread that it is something that happened at the factory, or from the dealer. I do not know who you dealt with, but is it possible that the knife you got was sold and then returned? I hate that the flaw is there for you to have to worry about, and I hope you can find out what happened with it. Good luck!!

After looking at the pics, the box does look like there is an imprint of the part of the handle that is blemed(new word I think). And after looking at the box, the knife could only fit in it with the lock side up. It is a mystery, hopefully Gianni will see this and make a suggestion.

From the picture I can see that the problem is not only in the top of the titanium ridge but also in the depression of the 3D working. The wood box can not go inside the 3D depression. Is it a new knive or second hand?
When you received the knives the tool was in its room?

Anyway it is not easy give an answer starting from this pics.

I will have to verify that it goes into the 3d depression of the titanium...I am currently at work and will try to take better pictures tonight. The knife is brand new from BladeCenter, everything was perfectly intact when I recieved the knife.

I will post more pictures as soon as possible. Thanks for the response Gianni

The knife is going to get shipped back to the distributor for a refund...The gentleman I spoke at the distributor said that they had one more in stock but it has a blemish on the handle as well.
