So I like the Sr-1 but I tend like smaller knives overall and was hoping the Sr-2 would fit the bill. This knife will not be sitting in a safe or on a shelf it will ride in my right rear pocket. If it doesn't happen to be there its either going to be in my pack or the cigar box on my nightstand. Overall would this be worth the expense will it last a lifetime of use not abuse. Will it be something in 15 years I can hand my son and say it hasn't failed me and its yours. Daughter already laid claim to my ccw (springfield emp) so looking to start collecting things to hand my son that I will carry daily. If it is available for sale links would be nice, if you have opinions about the knife please share.
Thanks you in advance, and I believe this is my first public post.
Edit: I have seen the pre order thread but looks like they missed a deadline of their own.

Well I'd like to thank all the experts here for the advice.

Sounds pretty sarcastic, but either way....

The LionSteel subforum doesn't seem to be getting much love these days. I too asked questions in another thread and have not received any answers yet. I saw some pictures on facebook with Eric Glesser and the Lionsteel owner at the spyderco factory in Colorado, that were taken and posted yesterday. So I'm assuming he's either on vacation or a business trip in the US at the moment. As far as the ETA, looks like it's been pushed back twice already in the other threads about the SR-2. A few requests for updates have been left unanswered by the LionSteel owner there as well, and those posts are like 2 weeks old.

Like you I'll just keep biting my nails and waiting for a response. I'm hoping the price comes down on these once they hit the dealers. Close to $388 is pretty hefty for a mini version of a $400 knife. Plus no one has clarified if shipping and customs fees are included in the preorder price. :-(

I'm really looking forward to the full titanium body SR2 Mini due to the 3 inch blade (actually 78mm which is 3.07 inches) for legal folder carry in Los Angeles. Also, overall size should be more manageable in a change pocket. Like the SR1 Titanium they're built like tanks from one piece of titanium with a thick blade. It'll last forever with their best Sleipner steel.

They haven't gotten many preorders and the deadline to send to end users has been pushed back twice already from April 30th to May 31st to the latest being June 30th.

I'll post as soon as I get mine which hopefully will be in early July 2013!

End of last week we have started to send the first SR2, both version, Titanium and Aluminum

We are going to send some pieces to every dealer that sent us the order.... Sartools is one of them..

We have already started to send SR2 knives to dealers, of course we are not able to send in one time to all of them. We are following the cronology of the orders received.
I wrote "We are going to send some pieces to every dealer that sent us the order.... Sartools is one of them.. ". I confirm that Sartool is a dealer that make us an order of SR2.

Any way, first days of the next week he will have the knives.

Gianni,

Will you have the SR2 in black aluminum with black blade?

Loving my SR2 Ti shipped from Italy!

Grazie,
Ram
