I've been looking at this model for a while and can't figure out why the tanto version would cost more than the regular version. I like the tanto grind but most dealers want about 50 bucks more for it.

MSRP is only $10 higher for the tanto so the rest of the difference may be due to supply. Perhaps the tanto isn't as well supplied at the moment.
I just checked KnifeCenter and the difference there is because they're selling the tanto for MAP with a 25% discount while the clip point is not bound by MAP for some reason.

The tanto version is in higher demand but there are not enough of them to go around, is my guess. I just bought one and managed to find it for below MAP, so they are out there.

Thanks fellas, I thought because it has a couple more edges different angles to grind maybe as to why it was more.

I've several times gotten substantial savings , just because a paticular model had Coyote colored G10 , which most people must not like .
