I can't wait for this knife! It looks really good. Very strong and practical.
What do you all think?

Been waiting to see real pics or someone have it in hand since i saw the picture. It's the one knife i'm really waiting for this year from CS, a definite buy for me.

Nice but heavy

Just to add some perspective about this..

CS SR1 - 9.375" - 7.3oz
ZT 0909 - 8.5" - 7.5oz
ZT 0456 - 7.7" - 6.6oz
ZT 0350 - 7.6" - 6.2oz

I'm comparing it with the 3 ZTs above because it was some of the most common hard use knives people recommend due to their "robustness" and their "manly" weight due to their solid SS liners or non-milled out titanium scale. If you own those 3 knives then you can't really complain about the weight. Not to mention that the SR1 has much better size/weight ratio.

The SR1 has a 4.5mm thick blade while the other ZT has 4mm or 3mm(0350) thick blade. This mean that it will be more balanced than the other 3 based on weight distribution. It also means that the blade will be much stronger for similar weight. I have personally handled all 3 ZT above and they are all to handle heavy because of the inefficient construction.

BTW there is also Benchmade Adamas - 8.7" - 7.68oz

Really can't wait to get an SR1, does anyone know roughly what time we will see one out in the wild?

Yeah, the SR1 and Frenzy are high on my list. The SR1 might be my ultimate "mechanics knife", scraping and cutting can be done by most any knife. Hell, I used my AUS8A Recon 1 to cut a tractor tire off of a rim to save my Pop some money. I was sure I'd destroy the edge (it was steel belted), it just dulled a bit. Sharpmaker brought it right back. That blade (if it's really as thick as it's said to be) might even make prying a possibility. I couldn't bring myself to do that to a $350 4MAX. Now something less than half that price, I might just be willing to womp on an SR1!

I just pre-ordered one from knifecenter. Hope they come out sometime in the near future.

The wait was killing me, I ended up buying a Recon 1 xl to help me with the wait. =)

At least when it's released you guys in the U.S will get it quick. I still have to ship it over to Oz, i'm dying to see more of the SR1, if photos are accurate it looks like everything i want in a folder both function and form wise.
