Anyone have both of these? Which do you prefer? Or what are the pro's/con's you feel of both? Been some time since I picked up a new modern folder and these two are on my radar.. something beefy between my Techno and Gayle Bradley.

Lil' LionSpy is wider due to the blade hump, uses stainless steel Elmax and G-10 on the presentation side. Both give you about a 4" handle so you can get a good grip on them. With SR-2 you can get substantial savings by going with the aluminum frame lock plus they come in some real nice colors.

I absolutely LOVE my Lil Lionspy. I prefer the Titanium and G10 over the aluminum and the spydie hole is a big difference maker in terms of feel of the knife. It is very satisfying and comfortable to deploy and the hole creates/provides a thumb ramp that really puts the icing on the ergos where the SR2 doesn't have that.

Did I mention that my LL is as smooth and rock solid as it gets in terms of action and lockup? Great, great blade.

I have both. Pros of the lil lionspy is the hole and elmax steel. I also prefer the pocket clip and the integrated g10. Cons for me is the fact it isn't an integral construction like the SR-2 and the huge opening hole. I don't think it is necessary to have such a huge hole. It creates an annoying thumb ramp and adds bulk. Pros of the SR-2 is the contoured handle and the one piece construction. It is a very nice knife to carry and comfortable in the hand. I did modify both of mine because they both have too much belly in my opinion. I also added a glass breaker to my lil lionspy. I enjoy both and carry them equally.

Any chance we could see that mod? As much as I really like the SR2, I've also felt there was just a bit too much belly.

Had some tough light today but hopefully this helps you see the difference. I dropped the point and removed some belly then did a regrind. Did the same with the SR-2. I also removed some of the metal around the opening hole to make it a bit more streamlined.

^^^Very nice! The change isn't much, but significant. Just a bit more point is very attractive, IMO.
Thanks for the pics!

No problem and thanks! I don't have an SR-2 photo on my phone. The thumb studs did get in the way and my grind on it is not as clean. Hand sanding would fix it, but that takes more time than I was willing to do. Yes, it is pointy now with plenty of belly there too.

Beauty of the Lionsteel SR02 is that they're cut out of a solid alu/ti block, not screwed together like the little Lionspy.
Making it much prettier in my eyes.

That's my feeling as well. Had the LionSpy been a Solid handle, I'd probably own one.

Also have to look at it from the point of this, if the Lionspy would've been a fully integrated titanium frame it would've easily been in the $400 range, like the Nirvana is.

Been a while, but found a killer deal on an SR2. Just arrived and here it is with some of my other small EDC's for comparison (Mini-Grip and Techno). I'm really digging the size/weight/ergos of this knife. It's about perfect.
