SR6 scale thickness

Hey, pretty new here. I recently got an SR6. Very pleased with it. However, my hands are slightly larger than the scales on the SR6 can provide for. It does not look like the scales have attaching hardware that can just be screwed off. It looks like I would have to drill them off in order to place any type of spacer underneath. Before I go and bug Swamp Rat, does anybody know of some aftermarket scales, or how to remove the fasteners and reinstall them? Or when the fasteneres are reinstalled, do they have to be swaged in place?

Thanks.

If you drill out the SR rivots/tubes you will have to replace them. I don't know if there is much aftermarket stuff available for these knives but I bet the swamp would be willing to help you out for a little more or your money, though their scale work isn't really all that much if you end up going with the micarta again, and especially since the knife is still in production. I just recieved the same knife. I stripped it, and ended up skinning a bull elk with it this first season. Worked really well.

Why don't you just send it in to the shop and have them put liners on there for you? Then you don't have to worry about damaging your new knife.
