Just received my Cold Steel SRK, AUS-8. Beautiful blade, flawless finish. I just wonder about the stability of the tip, since it is very thin. Anyone with problems here redarding the SRK?

You should go to you tube and look up "Cold Steel SRK Destruction Test".
There are parts 1 through 7 I believe.
I bought my SRK in 1990 the year they came out. Still have it no problems.
Granted its a Carbon V model but the AUS-8 ones are rated very highly.
The odds are good that it will out live you.

Congrats on the SRK. I'll tell you from experience (and an EMBARASSING story) that the tip is quite strong. The very first time I brought my SRK out with me I was carrying it in the sheath on my right side. I hiked around 4 hours to my camp site and after dropping my pack I was getting ready to make a fire and was going to use to process some wood. As I was taking it out of the sheath for the very first time the grippy handle got caught in my shirt and the knife went flying to right, flipping several times and landing tip first into gravel and rocks. the tip held up and only the finish (and my ego) were hurt.

Here's a pic of the tip and the scratched finish.

Thanks for your input, I was just wondering. The SOG Seal Team has a similar thin tip and bends rather easily. Does anyone have a pic were you can see tip thickness of the tip?, I will try try to post a pic of mine

If your concerned about the tip strength, find one of the Carbon V model SRKs. They are much thicker then the currently offered SRK tip. However, I find the current tip sufficent.
