I like the design of the regulator and was thinking of purchasing one but I had a few questions and was wondering if someone would be willing to help. I've read that the blade length is about 7.5, and the thickness 1/4. Did they make any versions with a thinner blade and/or shorter blade length? (5.5" would be ideal)

Thank's

Yes, there were a very limited number of 6.5" regs in jungle green or desert tan camo. Still about the same thickness, but a full flat grind to give you a thinner edge.

I think I just saw a tan one on the XC, likely it's gone already.

I believe the spine on these was .30, rather than .25 (if my memory is working).

It was the Scrap Yard Knife Company that released the Regulator series. The Test Team was flat grind, different choil, through hardened, square spine. The Regulator and Deregulator was saber ground, differentially heat treated, more friendly choil, and round spine. The LE is a satin like TT. The 6.5 Reg is flat ground, camo finished, best feeling choil. Handle materials is Res-C in black, tan, and green. Great blades made out of SR101.

Sumo is closest so far but...... the Mil Reg/dereg was .333 thick, high saber ground, and fully hardened.

The regulators are beasts. I don't know why they aren't more popular. I love mine, but you very rarely see anyone mentioning them positively, and I see them up for sale all the time. I think it's one of the coolest Bussekin blades out there. The handle is crazy comfortable.

I was very tempted by them, especially at the price they were offered. But in the end it seemed to be too much of a fighter in design for my tastes.

I tried for one of the Military Over runs, but was not quick enough.

At the price, I tried to order two!

I have an aversion to paying a very large markup so I probably won't be picking one up on the exchange. At that thickness, it would not be a slicer, but would be a beast for heavy work. Like carrying my old Ash1cg, only much lighter, and with a more comfortable handle for extended use!

The GANZA only camo over run being shorter really made me want them. That and the less aggressive point with no clip.
