Just got one yestarday (8 days from sending money order to get it here). It is 9 1/2" convex grind full width, bowie stile blade, solid SRS-15 blade (not laminated), Kraton (or something similar) handle similar to Bosen Enkuto handle - very comfortable. Big brass guard. Leather sheath.

I just love it! Too bad they have only two models with this supersteel... I like to have folder also.

Thanks, Vassili.

It's a beautiful looking knife, Vassili. How well does it cut? How's its edge retention compared to other steels? Compared to bulat?

Nice looking knife, not what I would want in that steel, but nice to see people using HSS for blades. How is it hardened.

Steel maximum hardness 65HRC as I understand, and blade hardness I was told 63HRC, but not sure. I guess this one is not brittle if G-Sakai making big knives out of it.

Only use I had so far was for Bosen Enkuto which still shave after cardboard and some bushes. But no formal test done - have no time for it now...

Thanks, Vassili.

Hey, nozh

have you had any opportunity to use that knife since last year ?
any update ?

Yes, I used it and tested it on bush branches - pretty hard dry wood. I was really impressed how long it hold shaving sharp edge even after chopping. May be it is due to convex edge - standart Japanese Edge for this kind of knives, but it holds it for some time, while all other knives stop shaving right after chopping.

It was not green brunches but hand-thick dry brunches. I tested all my big knives on it and it is the winner in terms of edge holding and pretty good in ergonomics.

So this is pretty good deal IMHO.

No dent or chipping problem?

Not at all! And it was dry bush hand thick - relatively dense wood as all bushes. SRS-15 did just fine - better then 5160 with as I understand 63HRC. This is why I always ask Sal and Thomas to bring it on the US Market.

Thanks, Vassili.
