I'm interested in building this knife kit from www.knifekits.com:
http://www.knifekits.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=1_373&products_id=2103
It's a "button lock" design, and it seems like it was made with the idea that the builder would make it an automatic knife. Those are illegal where I am, and I would like to keep it manual open, but would like to add a thumb stud to make it a "one hand opener."
As it seems like it was made with the idea that it would be converted to an auto (or at least it seems like some posters on this forum have done so with little modification), the button would have to both lock the blade open and closed. Has anyone here built this knife so that the button is only used to unlock the blade for closing? Does knifekits.com have the correct parts to do this?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
