SS Delica engraved by Spydreco?

Did Spyderco do a Engraved version of the SS Delica in 2002. The engraving was a spider web with a spyderco logo. I saw one on E Bay and wondered if it was legit. Seller claims it was engraved by Spyderco.

Indeed this is legit. There were a batch of Delicas and Enduras ordered by member "glasshart." I have one of the enduras. They're very cool.

Spyderco has, and I believe still does (the website does not mention it but their dealer catlogs show it) factory engraved both stainless and almite knives, in addtion to the "stock" bug and web design you saw they will also do more "personalized" engraving on both handles and blades. Can't say with absolute certainty that the knife you saw is factory engraved, but the chances are pretty high that it is. Have seen a fair number of them offered on eBay by sellers I would trust.

Edited to add: Nice one there Rorschach, most I've seen were engraved on handle only.

There were special orders of engraved Enduras, Delicas, Natives and Dragonflys done through the dealer "Glasshartt". The engraving (as with Rorschach's image) extended over the handle and blade. All were engraved by Spyderco in Golden Colorado. There are probably only between 30 to 50 of each model engraved through these orders but Spyderco may have used the design subsequently.

Well, if it was this one...

...it wasn't one of the "Glasshartt" engraved ones, but am sure the egraving was done by Spyderco as the dealer that was selling it and listed it as "factory engraved" is, IMHO, one of the best on eBay. Looked real nice, SS Delica, engraved at that, I didn't have one, BIN price was right, THE DEVIL MADE ME HIT THAT BIN BUTTON! (That's my story and I'm sticking to it).

These are available at the Spyderco Factory Outlet in Wheat Ridge Colorado. They aren't advertised on the internet, but they're in the showcase. I'm sure they'd send them out in the mail but you'd have to specifically ask for them. Make sure you are talking to Christina (and nobody else) if you order something from SFO.

I have a Pegasus that was engraved by Brooks Burt. it looks great and helps with the grip also. I don't have the link to his website anymore, but I bet he would turn up if you searched here.

I just recieved an engraved endura and man does it look great. I was going to give it away as a present to a friend but now I'm having secound thoughts and maby I'll keep it for myself.
