SS handles take a good sandblasting?

I was thinking of sandblasting the SS scales of an Endura. I anticipate this will matte out the finish and be a little bit textured. Is there anyone who's tried this or are there any comments as to type of sand, etc.?

A friend of mine added skateboard tape to a SS Harpy. It does a great job and actually looks pretty good, too.

I would suggest using glass bead blasting instead of sand.
If all you have available to you is a sand blaster, use the finest sand you can get. Keep the nozzle away from the handles about a foot to start. Work your way closer until you get the desired effect.
Sand will give you a rough finish very quickly.

Both these ideas sound great. I cannot change the sand in the blaster, so doing it cautiously is important.

Skateboard tape sounds neat, also. Is this the same tape that people use for stair treads, or is it more decorative?

Although I can't tell you for sure, they are basically the same. And wit the skateboard tape you can get different colors.
