Okay, someone had a SS Kiwi in the trade forums, though it appears to be on hold. What's the steel in the blade, and when is this model coming out as a regular model? IS this version going to be a regular model??? Thanks!

Sincerely,
Anthony

The SS Kiwi has VG-10 steel. It is a regular production model, which has just begun shipping. MSRP is $75.95

This was the only pic I could find of it (from Knifecenter.com)--definitely looks like something I want to pick up.

Edited to add: The handles look contoured (i.e. not flat) unlike the normal SS handles I'm used to seeing on Spyderco SS handled knives--can anyone confirm/disconfirm this?

They seem to look very much like the contoured bolsters of the regular Kiwi. I need them both!

I like the original better my self but that one looks nice. The orginal just looks classic. What i would like to see is a bigger version of the classic with a pocket clip.

Thanks for all the info everyone! I wouldn't say that I DON'T like the original, but I'm just more particular to the SS models. I carry EDC a SS Delica and Native, and I Love them both. Can't wait to get the SS Cricket and Kiwi! I'm hoping that even if they have to raise the prices a little, Spyderco will start to offer more of their models in VG-10 and SS! Love the VG-10 in my Lum Chinese, and really like it in other knives I've tried- actually its my favorite steel even over BG-42! I just like its clean performance, and the heft of a Spyderco SS just can't be beat for that "I'm handling quality" feeling.

Sincerely,
Anthony

Hey, NGK--you guys gonna get the SS Kiwis?

I was lucky enough to get a SS Kiwi, and it is a sweet little knife. The Kiwi in either style is my favorite Spydie is quite sometime.
