After a long search I have finally found an all stainless plain edge Native. Is this variation of the Native rare? I have been collecting Spydercos for about two years now, trying to concentrate on PE SS handled ones. This one has been prettty hard to find. I was wondering if anyone could answer this question for me? Thank you!

Congrats to your catch! :)

I can't give you the answer you are waiting for, as the catalogs show no plain version. But we all know they exist and the fact they are very hard to find make them rare. My guess: only once a production run were made, but it's only a guess. :jerkit:

I've one in my collection too:

Not really rare, at least not in my book, as it was made for several years. Certainly less common than the SE version, which is still in production, although it too may very well disappear from the lineup next year. I don't think either version achieved much in the way of popularity. On the other hand, the PE SS Native is one of those models that do not show up for sale very often, so in that sense I guess you could call it rare, am sure anyone listing one on eBay would. :D

I'd rate the two below as MUCH rarer.

Hey Deacon, is the top pictured knife's handle slightly larger or is it just an illusion based on picture angle?

I have one of those older PE Harpys and was frankly surprised to see them come out in VG10. Zen, I think they are the same size. The SS, CF and G10 versions I have are all the same size.

I haven't picked one up yet, but it's on my "to get" list as I really like SS models as well. You would think based on the popularity of the FRN Native, this would be a winner.

Exactly the same size, as far as I can tell. Think the illusion may be more due to the lighting than angle, but it's just an illusion.
