Just received a Street Scrapper 4 (got another SS4 and a Scrapper 6 on the way), and noticed there is a considerable gap between the spine and the blade. I assumed this was a defect, but after looking at the second picture in RokJok's picture post (here), I see that it may be common. The gap on mine is a bit bigger than RokJok's, and seems deep enough that all kinds of nasty things could get in there when used for skinning and food prep.

What would be the best way to fill this gap? Some kind of epoxy? RTV?

It's normal for an SS4.

You could skim off a little piece from some other part of the grip, insert it in ot the gap, then use a match or cigarette lighter to fuse the two pieces together.

I used a clear 50-year silicone caulk. That sealed the gap and hasn't come loose so far. It appears black, you have to look close to see that it's a fill job. The only reason it shows at all is that the caulk is high gloss rather than flat.

May do the beakless mod posted on the Scrapyard forums, this would give me plenty of extra res-c to fill the gap. If I don't do that, then Marine Goop has been mentioned to work well. Thanks for the help guys.
