what was the price from busse on the st-56? there is one on ebay, and i was wondering if the price was a good deal. thx

Extravaganzaaaa price was $256, I believe.

Secondary market, $350-$375 would probably be a good deal since I'm guessing these'll be kind of hard to find.

A few have sold on the Exchange.

The ones that still have prices listed are over $350.

I believe that one was on before with a starting price of $425 and nobody gave it a second look. Just FYI.

I just realized that Busse made the price of the ST-56 end in 56.

How do I even tie my shoes in the morning? :D

The ST-56 that was posted on ebay was being sold with a sheath. It can be viewed in the gallery. I know cause it is my knife.

Just found the post. 257!!! I would say 300 would be a good deal. They did just come out, but then I'm a cheapo. Mines already used. It's too cool of a knife to put up on a throne somewhere and stare at.

i saw yours earlier, there is another one without sheath, starting at 350. do you plan to relist yours or put in the fs forums?

Heh, that's mine up there! CONFINE SALES TO THEIR RESPECTIVE FORUMS GUYS]It saddens me that I never even had a chance to use it in person.

no offense to anyone here, but i'm kind of dissapointed at how people have been so fast to inflate the cost of these. i know that they're a limited availability, but with some expecting $150 over what they paid so soon, i think it kind of sucks. just my .02
i was hoping to score one since i missed the extravaganzaa, but it looks like it's not going to happen.

i see your point, however given the limited availability of the knife the prices dont seem that high, to me anyway.

Just a little perspective from my point of view... I beleive they ran about $260 when they wer available... now factor in shipping from the Swamp Rat store of about $15 to $20... we're now at about $275 to $280. Now account for shipping the knife to the new purchaser for about another $15 or $20... now we're at about $300ish. As the knife is no longer available, a $50 premium is not that bad to tack on IMHO. Just my 2 cents and how I view after market purchases... take it for what its worth. ;)

do you think that the near $400 price tags that have been popping up more often than $350 are equally justified? bottom line is that stuff is worth whatever people are willing to pay for them, but i'm guessing that since people arent jumping on these high priced ones and they seem to be sitting, that many feel as i do. while the collectability has always been a cool aspect of INFI, the draw for most of us has also largely been the usability of these, i'm wondering if prices on the secondary market could effect this.
on a side note, where do you get the shipping cost from the swamp rat store? how would swamp rat company store's shipping costs factor into the equation?

Agreed... on the over inflated price tags at $400++ and I choose not to buy. There are those out there that try to take advantage of the INFI desire. I also feel there are those out there that the help the offenders with saying things like "That's a GREAT price... won't be here long" kinda stuff... but you'll see that in both over inflated prices AND great prices. I've even seen some buy things on ePay and not minutes later they show up on the for sale side of the forum... before they even have posession of the thing!!! I note these guys as don't buy from and move on. don't get me wrong... there ARE a lot of GREAT peops on this forum!!! Just watch and learn... you will see who the good guys/gals are.

So... I do some research here on the forums... see the avg price they have been going for, decide if thats what I want to pay and look for the deal. As for the 56s... i don't think you'll find a better price than the $350... that's the avg they've been going for AFAIK. You may get lucky (which I've seen also), but you may be waiting a LONG time too. And as for the shipping... standard practice in an investment... which is what most of the minty fresh Busse blades that are for sale are viewed as.

Again... my 2 cents... take it for what its worth.

well said, i totally agree

Personally, when I can afford to buy, I'll only buy from hogs/piglets I know and that I know are selling at what is a fair price. They sell for what they have in it or a few bucks more since it's their prized knife. Other times, I'll just wait for a hog to drop me a line with an offer and I'll take it. A year ago or so, I recieved a NIP for $35. I then traded it for a Rat trap. I even told the other guy the deal wasn't fair on my end since I only paid $35 for the NIP. He said no worries and traded straight across.

That guy is a brother to me and I am forever grateful to him for that deal. To me, that is what having fun is all about. It wasn't about the money, it was about two hogs trading knives because it was fun and we were (are) brothers.

Like one hog has said "When buying/selling/trading, etc busse's is no longer fun, I'm outta here" (paraphrased poorly) :) It's still fun though :)

I dunno. I justified my price by the quality of the sheath I made for it.
I am not a "fighting knife" kinda guy. I liked the knife when I first saw it and I still like it but I don't see myself carrying it. Every knife in the Shooter household is a user. I obviously shot a little high with my price.

Please don't see this as all our comments are directed at you (Not implying you are). This is stemming from a trend that has slowly formed over the past few months. I don't want to leave a bitter taste in your mouth so to speak and my comments were not aimed at you. :)

No worries mate. I did not take any comments here as "aimed at me" and I am fairly thick skinned as well. I find it amusing when people get upset about words on a screen from a person they have never met before. I would like some feedback on my sheath tho' ;)
