A quick question - Did any of the sheath-makers score a ST-56 and can make one without needing to have the knife sent to them?

What kind of sheath are you looking for, leather or kydex?

Generally I have no preference for the material in the sheath. I more tend to look at the style of the sheath. I have a Battle Rat in one of Dwaine's Dundee Rigs which I love. I also have a Rat Daddy in one of David Brown's kydex sheaths which is great. I think at this stage it will possibly depend more on finding someone who can make the sheath without needing the knife to be sent to them.

yep, that is how I feel. I will not ship a knife just for a sheath. I can replace sheaths, bt most of my knives cannot be replaced easily.

That is well and good unless you have a one off or a very rare one, say 1 of 6. Especially if you are talking kydex. Leather you can fudge a bit, usually a tracing is sufficient that and an idea of how thick the handle and blade are in specific areas. That is why I took up making my own sheaths. :)
