Once again, I am a very proud knife maker able to collaborate on a knife making project to benefit the St. Jude's children's hospital.
My two very good friends, Doug Campbell, JS from Montana, and Lin Rhea, MS from Arkansaw, and myself, are three of a rather large handful of contributing knife makers on a knife making sub-forum on a very popular traditional Archery forum - Trad Gang.
Each year, the entire Trad Gang community bands together and raises a rather large sum of $$ in their annual St. Jude's auction.
Lin, Doug and myself have now collaborated numerous times on a knife for the auction.
The knives we make are designed and created with the traditional Bowhunter in mind, and should reflect the outdoor life style and down-to-earth mind-set of the Traditional Archer.
This year's knife has just been completed.
We did a bit of a WIP which can be seen here:

The blade was forged this year by Doug Campbell from traditional Damascus materials with the added ingredient of Meteorite which he got in Hawaii.
Doug used a low layer pattern weld to better show off the Meteorite.
He then sent the blade to me for finishing, hardening and major parts assembly. (Take-down. Ya' think?
)
I then shipped her off to Lin for his magic!
She has a stainless guard and black dyed/stabilized curly maple.
You can see how she etched three different colors.
Anyway, I am always proud to work with my two good friends.
And I will say this - if there are two better, more decent and giving people on this planet than Lin and Doug, I don't know who they are.
I'm truly honored to call them my friends.
