I had an interesting thought last night when I was falling asleep. Has anyone ever seen a stabber jack type blade in anything but a coke bottle pattern handle?

Short question, but I guess that's all I got. :)

I've got a Walden that is a barehead sleeveboard jack.

What do you mean by "stabber jack?" I think of this one.
I have one on order from Mike, but it seems to be lost in the mail. These are available in several different covers: a couple types of red bone, a couple browns, with various jigging patterns.

Here is the closest I have to a stabber jack that is not a coke bottle. The blade is 3 inches plus with quite a strong spring and similar shape to a true stabber jack except for the tang area ...i.e. no obvious kick

I will try to get a pic of the blade open asap

There is a rise in the back spring under the kick...why..I don't know but is it not interesting as per the other thread.

I could grind down the kick a little but I have seen so many of these old knives that had this issue. That...is my wonder?

Thanks for the extra pic of that beautiful knife :) I also have a knife with that issue.

Yep, this is exactly what I mean. I may be emailing you begging for more pictures of the blade grind. Aww heck.......can we just have more pictures here, specifically closed from the top and the open on the pile side of the blade?

And Jack.....I do need to get out more. :)

Wouldn't Charlie's spearpoint barlow (as well as the similar gec boys knife) fit this category? I have no idea what a "stabber jack" is.

I seem to remember seeing that stabber Jack blade profile in other handles in old advertising, but I am not sure.

It sure is a neat blade profile.

I believe it's the extra thick saber-ground spear main blade that makes a stabber jack.

If it ever arrives, I'll make sure to snap some for ya. Grrrr USPS...

Ahhhh, thanks gents! Looking at Ken's thread, it seems it would also include a lack of (or at least visibly reduced) kick on that meaty blade?

A Robeson 622787 jack with a sabre-ground blade. I suppose it could be considered a stabber jack.
