Has anyone stabilized Black or Red crosscut Palm wood?

Did it work?

I have a couple knives with palm. If I remember I'll take a picture tonight. I look at it like giraffe bone, it's available, but not much demand.

That looks like it would be pretty cool looking in the end. I only have one knife with stabilized palm but it's more black lines than black dots because it's not cut perpendicular to the grain like the bit in your photo. It looks like this, it's one of my favorite wood Southard scales:

You might need to post this question (or have it moved) to the knife makers forum. One of our makers have probably worked with it.

Although they look great (wood scales that is), I admit I prefer G10 or micarta. Good luck!

greenbergwoods.com has a bunch of it. I bought 4 or 5 pieces to put on some kitchen knives. Looks great in his pictures. I haven't used mine yet.

I love the look of the stabilized end cut palm.
I have a project in mind I hope to get to in Jan or Feb

That Gaston knife is beautiful. Neat that Palm can be used, I would have thought it's too fibrous to work with.
