Stabilizing and polishing horn

I have had a request to make a knife using blesbuck horn as a handle. I've tried looking around for resources on how to use horn as a handle material but have come up short. My main two questions are:

1. How to dye the horn a blacker, more even color, if needed?

2. How to seal or stablize the horn?

Any reference or help is appreciated.

sorry no help with dying. but to straighten boil antler in water use oven mittens take directly to vise with wood on both jaws and tighten as needed. let dry. repet if needed.

i would do this before dying and stabilizing if needed.
