I had WSSI do this up. I polished out a corner after sanding with 220 grit. It looks pretty cool. The pic doesn't show the grays to well.

from a whale of course. one of my co-workers had it lying around.... figure it would look nice. either that or let it rot in the back yard for a few more decades

That stuff is really ugly. Send it to me and I'll bury it for you. The ground is softer down here, so it won't be a problem, and I don't mind doing it.

Well, it looks like the ground and your head are on the same level. :p

So that's what happened to my pet donkey.......Last time I saw him, some strange lookin' character was feedin' him some kind of "relish" lookin' stuff.

I was think'g(scary) a coffin handle, ladder pattern'd Damascus Bowie with WI guard.

Yeah! A big one too. :D The ladder pattern will be perpendicular to the "grain" in the bone, nice contrast. That's doesn't scare me at all. What scares me is eating lobster or treerat. :barf:

Dave; Boiled bottom feeders in beer with melted butter with a little of my relish and a couple dozen ice cold Samuel Adams is what I want for Xmas.
Robert: I wouldn't take your pet donkey because I have enough asses hanging around here.  :D
Only kidding guys. ;) :p :D

The beer/butter/relish sounds like a good thing to cook anything in! And the Sam Adams could be a meal in itself; heaven knows it has been often enough. ;) Bottom feeders? Well, we are carnivores afterall. :D

Merry Christmas, thread readers!

A fellow Iowan (if you consider Des Moines a part of Iowa) passing on squirrel? Big City kids are deprived, that's for sure! Fried squirrel and gravy RULES! Dave, next time you are here, it's fired squirrel and gravy! Same to you, Mr. Rascal, IG! Bottom feeders, indeed! Hey, seriously, that ought to be a great knife, IG!

John, you're on! :D Hey, I gotta backryard full of the little bastids, maybe I'll bring some stock for the stewpot. I've been thinking about getting a decent airgun, any recommendations? I've been using crappy stuff and getting frustrated, I need a nice accurate gun. Pump, not co2.

Maybe IG will let us know how to get our hands on some of that great HT relish too, eh? How bout it IG? I've heard too much about it for too long, and living in Iowa, "hot" doesn't mean the same thing to you and me as it does to the locals. I grew up in New Mexico and I like it like that.

From what I've read everyone seems to have had a wonderful Christmas. So did we. There's nothing quite so heartwarming as the excitement of a three year old on Christmas morning!

We had a fantasic spread and I spent the morning cleaning up the aftermath. I was doing a little whining about the mess, when Jeanie said something like, "It takes you two hours to clean the kitchen; it took me seven hours to cook it." Well, she's right and I got my priorities realigned. :D I'm fortunate to have a wife that is a wonder in the kitchen and who loves to cook for big happy bunches of folks on holidays. It's truly gratifying to see everyone eating away and all lethargic afterwards. We had the great good fortune that no one had too much to drink; only too much to eat! Jeanie sent leftovers home with some of the less fortunate of our guests and the happy looks were worth a fortune. I love Christmas and giving and sharing with friends and family. Despite our society's focus on material stuff, it's the love we share with others that makes life good. I'm a happy man and about to go over to my son's house to help him put stuff together. I'm looking forward to spending a few hours this afternoon with him doing the things a father and son should do. To think of all the years we lost when we were estranged is sad and it's good to know we have a chance to do it right.

Okay! Y'all have a great day. I'm getting a bunch of stuff together to send to WSSI this afternoon. I've never done that but I think I'll give it a shot.

Hey!!! You Ole Injun I won't even hire the TREERATS never mind firing them. I have a handmade Xmas card that Jay Mulchay drew for me that I got to post it has a bigass treerat on it. HEHEHE!!
Dave I still own Don of my relish I'll have to see what I got left. I think I am going to see if I can find a local farmer and have him grow me a half of a acre. :D
