Hey everybody
been a while since i posted.. been crazy busy. Working full time going to school, and getting married! this little wakizashi was made as a trade for a diamond, and help assembling my fiancee's ring. I am not sure how many layers the blade is.. and the pedigree of the steel is sketchy...I got sori when i water-quenched, but i didn't get a hamon. *scratches head* The saya is mahogany, the tsuba and habaki were cast in bronze from waxes i made. The menuki are sterling silver, and the ito is silk. My brother with the nice camera got some pictures... i will get some less-abstract photos soon.

i would appreciate your comments and criticisms.

Chris thats a georgeous Wakizashi! I bet Stacy will treasure it. Congrats on your skills and your marriage.

Fabulous......... I've got more diamonds, but I'll never have a nicer sword. It will be one of my treasures.

Unreal. You are an amazing maker.

Really nice!

Vary nice. No criticisms here either.
I got to figure how to do that kind of finish.
I enjoyed meeting you at Fire and Brimstone.

That habaki is gorgeous. I should almost quit coming here. To see people so young with so much skill and talent is kind of depressing. Hamon or no the steel and blade look amazing.
It is nice and sharp ,you can even tell in the photo.

Amazing Chris-and congrats on the marriage!
...now if I only had an extra diamond lying around....:D

I really like the execution and design. Really nice work. Congratulations on the marriage!

thanks for the encouragement guys!

both the tsuba (guard) and the habaki (collar) were cast in bronze by Daemon (he posted above) and did a top notch job!

this sword was alot of fun to make, and didnt turn out half bad! *grins* i am hoping to finish another sword (so i can wear it) by the time i get married in July, but i am going to be working full time AND taking 12 credits in an 8 week summer class. so i dont know if that is going to happen. So, if not.. then this is the sword i will wear at my wedding! very exciting time. Thanks so much for the encouragement, and as promised, more pictures! enjoy!

Chris, none of my business but are you still using the bare bones tools that you listed on your site or have you upgraded? I just often use you as an example of what someone can do without the massive high end grinders and mills and stuff.
