Stag 119

Here's a stag 119 I just picked up.

I bought it because the stag was very appealing to me.

I went in to the purchase believing it is a non factory handle. If it is non factory it was done by a talented craftsman.

One thing that initially made me think it might not be factory is the amber color. I’ve not seen many factory Buck’s with this color stag.

Another thing is it don’t have an aluminum spacer at the butt end. Every other factory example I’ve seen has one.

I also cannot detect a pin through the pommel. Even under high magnification I cannot see one. I guess it could be there but I’m not seeing anything.

I’d love to hear others thoughts.

I always thought Stag that has that color and appearance was under a torch at one time. I've passed on a few 112's with that look because I thought it was artificiality induced and perhaps dyed. Just a personal preference I don't judge lol! Dyed Mastodon falls into that category too.

I think it was called Amber Stag. Pretty sure its died orangy. I have a 110 from c&c that looks similar, bit I cant recall it being offered on a fixed blade.

The missing aluminum spacer tells me its not factory, but it is very well done.

I think I’d let some super glue run into that crack. Just incase it wants to get worse.

Here are mine. The only ones I know are factory are
116 caper 1st on left
121 fisherman 6 th from left.
119 Crown stag.

Numbers 3&5 are obviously not factory and have spacers that look a lot like yours.

The rest I have no idea. They came from ebay, I think they probably have been rehandled.

If yours came from ebay and you want to share the seller’s name I’ll check my records to see if any of mine came from them.
