I have not used any damascus lately so......

I contacted Delbert Ealy and got some of his highly recommended damscus. The patern on this piece is called Lion. It is L-6 and O-1. This is some stag I have had for several years.

What do you think?

Well, I'm not sure why it's called Lion, but it has a good, clean, random look to it. If it is O1 and L6 alone (without nickel), it should be a good high performance carbon steel too, though the nickel shouldn't affect things that much. Many of his patterns have nickel in them, are you sure this one doesn't?

Acually I believe this pattern does have a small amount of nickel in it. After talking with Delbert I don't think it will affect the cutting ability much. Plus this knife is nice and thin.

Tom, you KNOW I like this one! And yes, the Ealy damascus does contain a teeny bit of nickel. I have some myself, but haven't ground anything out of it yet.

I'm right behind Danbo on this one. I love small fixed blades with stag...the damascus is just a bonus.
Great knife and thanks for sharing.

Tom, that's my favorite of your work to date. Really a great piece. I need to get back with you about placing an order...

absolutely stunning, I've always liked your knives but this is the nicest I've seen. If I had money and any possible use for a fixed blade I would buy yours!
