Recently completed, this one is handled in sambar stag, and since the scales were sort of roundish, I went with mortised tang that extends through the buttcap and peens over. The 9" blade is random damascus with forge texture and deep etched Fittings are wrought iron and have a filed fuller, with a copper underlay on the buttcap. Patterned copper and rawhide wraps finish it off.OAL is 14". Sheath is rawhide over veg-tan, and features a hammered copper concho, and a rattlesnake inlay on the belt loop.Photo by Chuck Ward.

Thats another Nice one John It would seem you have found your nitch in the world of art knives.

Another NICE looking package John.

It certainly DOES appear that you have found your niche!

Pleasure seeing your work,
Peter

I don't think it is so much John finding his niche as it is him taking over his niche. Now days I see a well executed frontier knife and sheath and my first thought is that is a nice John Cohea style knife.

Very good looking knife and sheath. I am always impressed how well the two go together. Only thing missing is the stand.

John there is no end to the fine knifes and sheaths to come out of your shop. I always wait with antiscipation for you to post. Thanks for showing and KEEP them comming. KT

not sure why, but looking at this knife makes me think of Don Fogg's work:confused:
Different style, but something about the lines...
