Stag Crown Bowie

Here is another hot off the press. Its a ball bearing magically transformed to a bowie. Hope you like.

I like that a lot.
Do you take into consideration right or left hand when you choose antlers?
Is there a traditional crown in or crown out for right hand?
When the knife is in the sheath on the belt, which direction does the crown go? Toward the body or away from the body?
Does it matter?
I repeat - I like it a lot.

I just close my eyes and turn it in my hand until it feels good. Every crown is different and there are no hard rules as to where the base goes except maybe upside down. At least thats my story and Im sticking to it.

Not sure I would consider this to be a bowie, but I like it very much. It looks more like a fighter to me.

I think it looks somewhat like a fighter also, in any case very nice lookin piece its got a real smooth flow to it.

Hey Bruce, How'd you get that ball bearing to look so good? I do like stag. I started a wood handled knife a couple weeks ago and the darn things are so slick I never went any further with it. I've done a number of crowns and even though they looks like they will work better in one hand or the other surprizingly most feel good in both hands if the handle is long enough.

Ray Im not dropping out of OKCA. I figure when its just you and I there we will have less competition.

Bowie, I think to some people if its a knife its a bowie. I've sold several knives that I never called bowie's that were called bowie's. Guess it don't really matter at least to me.

Bruce, We'll knock'em dead in April. Glad to hear your still going. Funny the last couple years of me doing the show have both been good. Much better than what some call the better years where I just sold one piece if that.

Glad you got it OK. Yes Im sure it will come out at least this good. Let us see what you come up with.
