finished this feller up last evening, The steel is 52100, hand sanded to a nice satin finish. OAL 9 1/2" w/ 4 3/4" blade. The guard, spacer and pommel are reverse twist damascus and the handle is sambar stag.

Thanks for look'in

Bill

Georgeous, Bill. That reverse twist hardware on a carbon blade sure looks good together. :)

That damascus works very well with the stag. I am sure it is a stout and usable tool yet I would have a hard time cutting up deer with it - a blade like that would have a nice home on my mantel.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, the damascus does look good with the plain steel blades, I've made several using it this way and I really like the added look. Gives it a more personal look I think. Enough of what I think. :D

PJG,
It just looks pretty, I guarantee you there made to use. To own this knife and place it on the mantel would be such a waste, both to you for not useing it and experienceing its excellent qualities, and to the knife, for its soul was formed in the fire and it cries to be used. ;)

Thanks again,

Bill

Bill, you keep that up, you are going to get good at it. JUST KIDDING, BILL! That's one sweet knife, Bill!

Bill that's a classic and absolutely beautiful! One of the best I've ever seen, thanks for sharing.

thanks again for the great compliments. I just looked at the photo again and I don't know where that funky reflection came from on the blade, it wasn't on the picture I have on my puter. O well, that photography stuff just kills me. :D

John, I was always told practise makes perfect so I just keep practising, some day I'll get it right, I hope. :)

Thanks again,

Bill
