This is a stag fighter. Forged from 1095 with random pattern damascus fittings. Blade is clay quenched and has a wild hamon. 6 7/8" Blade 12" OAL.
Please let me know what ya think.

Nice, I have been experimenting with hamons on 1095. What are you using to etch Ferric chloride , vinegar ? I have heard of several methods.

I use a 50/50 mix of FC and vineger. After the blade blackens I clean with 0000 steel wool and pure vineger. Just keep doing it till it gets like I want it then polish with Flitz.

ANDY, I think you did a beautiful job with this knife (baby bowie) . The overall lines of the blade versis the stag handle are a smooth transition & both are complimentary to each other. Congratulations on a fine creation.

Very Nice. I'm not usually a fan of differential hardening on damascus blades, But I think it works really well on this one.

Well done!

Great knife. I just love stag on a well executed knife.

Very nice! Your photo was coming out dark on my monitor, so I brightened it up a bit. I hope you don't mind.

Thanks Chris. I wish I knew how to do all that photo shop stuff. That looks much better. Thank-you all for the positive comments.
