Stag Handle SOG's?

Hiya Ron!

Just curious to know if the late Al Mar had anything to do with SOG Knives in the early years. If so, could you elaborate the role he played. As I once came across a Japanese knife magazine/catalog in which under the Al Mar Knives section, it had something that looked pretty darn close to the SOG Tom Cat. Only that it appeared to be some sort of commemorative model with Stag handles. That sure was some knife!

Which brings me to the next question. Was there or will there ever be a Stag, Bone or imitation Stag handle knife series in the near future? That would surely bring some refinement to the current line, to say the least. In this way perhaps, some "new life" could be instilled into some of the older models.

Hi Krizzard,

You've got me on this one. I know that Spencer and Al Mar were acquaintances. I'm not sure, but I don't think that any projects either under Al Mar's name or SOG's name were collaborations on any level.

Regarding "stag" or "bone" type models in the future, I always answer questions like these, "you never know what the future holds." Gut guess? Probably not. Why? We tend toward tactical knives, serious user knives, or techi knives. Stag or bone doesn't lean in those directions. But…you never know!

Hiya Ron!

Thanks for the reply.

Nothing to add.

Anyone else?
