Red stag handle, ATS34 hollow ground blade, blade length is 7", 416ss finger gaurd I made bent by smashing the hell out it with my 3 pound maul in a vise. The finger gaurd and black ash spacer with red liner/303ss spacer took more time to make the blade did to grind.

That is a nice looking knife.

I know exactly what you are saying about bending the guard. I once broke the jaw off a vise bending 416 SS. Back then I never thought to heat it up!!

I don't understand why it gets so thick behind the guard with that spacer, could you explain that to me?

I am also curious as to why the handle gets thicker like that. Is it comfortable to hold? Looks neat but I wonder how it affects the grip....

yep, I'd never done one of these before and didn't know any better. :D
I was also making this for a guy with big hands and it made sense to me to improve the grip as the stag narrowed there. You'd think by looking at it that it would be odd to grip but it does come to the hand, if not nicely, not offensively. I also wanted a bit more support on the guard in case it got banged on with some one using it as a chopper. I am working on the second one now and plan to do several things differently.

Nice work, I have found that on most of my knives there is always something I will do diffen't the next time!

Keep'em coming...
