I just picked up a nice stag handled Trailmaster. This is an older one, but has seen no use, and has barely touched a stone. The question/problem I have with this knife is the manner in which the stag was installed. This knife has a very nice stag carver on it, but it looks and feels like to me, that they put the carver on upside down. The stag is noticeably wider and thicker up by the guard, and the thinner part of the stag is down by the buttcap? I was just wondering if this knife could be rehandled? Maybe if I provided the stag?

When manufacturing any product with natural type materials it is nearly impossible to have any consistent standard in terms of size and shape.

Each CS Stag Trailmaster has a different "feel" to it because of this reason and the individuals preferences.
The customer must make the final choice on what feels and looks best to himself.

As for changing the handle it can be done. Unfortuantely CS does not provide modification or custom work in our facility. There are a number of individuals or custom shops that can accomadate your request.

Each piece of stag might have a different feel to it, but someone screwed this one up and put it on upside down! If Cold Steel wont do it for me, I'll have someone who will do the job correctly do it.
