I just got a new Smoky Mountain Knifeworks flier in the mail and right in the opening pages they have a fold out of some very nice looking India stag pocket knives. The only thing I don't like is the stainless blades. I've never had a Case stainless knife, and I worry about that. They have the peanut, but they also have a 3 1/8th mini copperhead that looks very beguiling to me. Oh my, so many knives and so little money!

ON THE OTHER HAND...

On page 8 of said catalogue are CV bladed red jigged bone models.

Why does life have to be this complicated?

In my best Homer Simpson voice - STAGGggg <drool>

CVeeee and bonnnnneeee.

It's never easy it it. It never is form me either. My sympathies.

As I understand it, there still is a embargo on India Stag, but the India government released the stored stag that was on the docks for years. So there will be a bit of India stag for awhile. Maybe just maybe Case may have enough stag to make more knives including some with CV blades.

Go for the stag. The case stainless isn't all that bad. Just not the best for hard use. They're not worth passing on if you want one.

The current Case Collector's Club magazine has a great article on these new Stag knives, I wish they had released the 75 pattern in Stag, but I may settle for a 54 pattern.

I handled some of the smaller patterns in the new India Stag and it does look very nice!

I just may go ahead and try that Case stainless. I'm very drawn to that mini-copperhead. If the Case stainless is as decent as the Victorinox mystery steel I'll be okay with that. I like my sak's, they get the job done.

Now I just am torn between the peanut and mini-copperhead.

Get both?! Gee, that's sure easy to say when it's someone else's money. heheh.

Whichever you get don't forget to share pics of the new baby, er knife.
