Anybody know who might have made this nice knife?

Stag tapered tang with an engraving reading " COLT" and underneath CV-134

I don't believe its a Colt arms offering, my guess CV is chrome vanadium, but I don't know

Got it as part of a 3 knife set from a Hunter that wont need them any longer

Probably these knives were made by the workshop of Aida brothers in Japan.
(Yoshimasa Aida of the elder brother is a knife dealer, and Yoshihito Aida of the younger brother is a knifemaker.)
These knives were designed by Yoshihito Aida, and made by disciples of him.
And they were sold by MATRIX AIDA of Yoshimasa Aida's shop.

Thank You, I believe you are right as the second knife in this 3 knife set was a stag Aida hand scalpel. Let me ask you, what made you think Aida made the Loveless style pictured? Many people emulate Loveless' style, and make stag Loveless style knives. I now Aida Yoshino was Bob's protégé.

Thanks Again

PS My Son's Birth date knife, made by Bob Ham... http://www.timeonastream.com/SarneckyTaiga1Hunter.jpg

Because of the brand name "COLT".
COLT brand name is used on the knives which are made by his work shop.
(Though I don't know why they chose the COLT name...)

Your Son's Birth date knife is beautiful, and also seems very useful.

Ahhhh, Thank You. There's the rosetta stone.

Yep. I was in communication with Bob Ham when I lived in Japan after buying a beaut burl hunter he built. When my Son was born I asked him to build me a stag knife,( He doesn't usually work in stag) for my Son's birth. I sent him a sketch of the blade geometry I hoped for, and he built me a GREAT knife. Thanks Bob. He's a Good Guy. Now that's a Knife.
