Hi yall could ya point me in the direction of a good quality REAL STAG handles knife in carbon steel? Not to picky in brand provided its U.S. made:thumbup:

Thanks, ace

If USA made, I would say Moore Maker if you don't mind paying a good price for a good knife. Some others might have some other ideas for you.

aceofblades,

Look at the Great Eastern Cutlery Co... Northfield tang stamp, there's a 4 1/2
Trapper in Sambar Stag and 1095. Little high in price depending on where it's available - 100.00 - 150.00

Fellas, I don't want to ruin anyone's evening but links to eBay are not permitted. Thanks for cooperation now and in the future.

Hey blues...a question....

What if one responded to ace's question by saying "Well, Billy Bob's Stag Shak at BillyBobStagShak.com has a nice selection of stag blah blah blah..."?

Or what if someone asks "What is a good source for X-Treme Stabinator 2000's?" Can you say "MallNinjaHut.com has them for under $300."

Is that OK? I've always worried about that.

To address the original question from aceofblades...

Wendell Carson is a longtime maker/embellisher of traditional knives. You can find him on that place as knifeman110. If you're not in a hurry, you may catch one somewhat under the $100 radar. Not all are carbon steel, but some are.

I happen to own this one in Sambar stag and O-1 tool steel.....

IMO, one other brand that sells a nice stag Stockman, with D-2 blades, is the Northwoods line. A little hard to find, but they are out there.....

Just a couple of ideas.

Yes, you can refer people to other sites. I don't know if it's necessary to get into pricing etc, but there's no problem telling someone that may find what they are looking for at a particular (non-eBay) site.

Let me go one step further by saying that there is nothing preventing you either privately emailing or sending a PM to another member to advise them of something they may be interested in on eBay. (See notice posted this morning on eBay guidelines for the forum.)

Thanks, Blues!

If I say a Moderator is totally awesome...can I then do whatever I want?
