The stag version is indeed an "odd lot" a little shorter than usual. Waste not, want not.

James,

Thanks for posting these and the many other scans you post on a regular basis. Just when I think I've already bought my last knife for a while.........oh well, I think you know the rest of the story. All the best, Alan

The stag Talon is much closer to Rob's handmade Cetan, in overall and blade to handle length. Not to demean the Talon at all, it's plenty handsome on it's own.

Brian, actually the Talon is based on exactly my 3 1/2 version. Camillus is using my CAD drawing for the laser cutting. I offer both 3 and 3/2 blade lenghts as the picture shows. I got to see the Stag and Bone models at the Blade Show and they were sweet! I personally like the bone one the best, but I always have had a weakness for nice thin bone scales.

Will & Camillus must be living right - how many companies can mess up 40 very expensive blades & then turn around and make them into instant collectibles!!! HeHeHeHEHe! Fantastic job on both of them - already have a regular model and it is carried everywhere except to work (not that I don't want to - won't get past the guards). Will be getting a stag on Wednesday - same length as my Cetan - sheath looks outstanding - can't wait!!!!!

Rob - this just shows how outstanding the design is - it works at 3", 3 1/2" and in the longer Wambli models! And with the excellent work that Camillus did can get a great knife without your 2-year wait. Have Micarta, G-10 & now Stag - Will, if you do a wood handled version in the future I'm in!

Great pics James!!

I have the Stag Talon now and it is very nice - same length blade as my Cetan custom though the blade is a little wider - for an "ooops" blade(hehehe!) everything is done very well - the grind lines are even & like the standard Talon it has a very nice edge - extremely sharp! The finish on the blade is the same as the standard - like a brushed satin finish - though not as nice as on the custom it works well & looks very good. It has a nice set of Stag scales with stainless pins that make for a very attractive package though the shape of the scales is a little different than what I would have expected. They work well and are very comfortable in the hand - makes for a great little using knife. The sheath is awesome - whoever they got to make the sheaths did a great job & the Cape Buffalo hide feels oh-so-good. This is one nice little package that looks good and works even better. Great job everybody & a nice little treat for Talonite lovers.

James,
Thanks for putting up the pics!

Pengiun,
Glad you got one, ...remember, there were only 30 made!
