One of my collectors asked for a 7 inch skinner, "with a very upswept tip, but not too much belly." After a couple of drawing exchanges, this is the profile he envisioned.

He also wanted silicon bronze fittings, and we decided to go with a stag taper for the handle. This is one of the stag beauties my pal Larry Bailey helped me find. ( I bought a bunch!)

The blade is forged W-2, from Don, without hamon. This puppy is to be a user.

Paul's gonna do the sheath. The owner's seen the pics, so here's a couple shots for the Forumites.

I love matching the butt to the stag. I hope ya'll like it, too.

It is killer, John, the fittings almost look like rose gold. Terrific, as always.

WoW! That is a very appealing knife In every way! It will be very interesting to see the sheath for that beauty!

Breathtaking work. Really like the way you transitioned the guard/spacer into the stag taper:thumbup::thumbup:. I would have liked to have done something like that on my last knife but didn't know how. You can expect a call from me soon for another brain picking session, if that's OK.:)

John That is sweet Nice stag The finish on the bronze looks good. I do love bronze and stag together.

I echo Mike's comment about the guard/spacer fit. Man that's some beautiful work.

The whole knife is just so fine.

Outstanding! Beautiful stag and I really like the blade profile as it looks perfect for skinning. I hope the owner furnishes action pics.

Good Looking there John!
I once tried to solder a silicon bronze guard.

I'll never try that one again!

That is a gorgeous piece John - great lines, great stag and really nice bronze fittings.

I've only done one bronze guard, but the soldering presented no particular problem that I can recall.

I would love to see this one in about ten years. Great looking stag and that W-2 is going to be good looking when it gets some age on it. I love a user.
