Stag?

Hi,
I am trying my first attempt at a stag handle. When I was taking a little epoxie off the black outside (with achol) it started to remove the black surface color. Do you seal the outside with anything to prevent this from happening to the finished knife?

I use Watco Teak finish to seal my stag. Linseed oil will work also.

I will be getting to the knife with the stag scales this week. I will trying the watco teak oil finish and I will let you know how I make out. Thanks again:thumbup:

Stag coloured with dye or shoe polish will do this on you, stag coloured with potassium permanganate will not.
